Chelmsford's First Sewing Retreat!
On Saturday 13th July, SewJoBaker will be hosting a sewing retreat day! Imagine a whole day of uninterrupted sewing (well, the only interruptions will be afternoon tea and sewing chit chat!). I think the sewing community is wonderful and can think of nothing nicer than spending a day with fellow sewing enthusiasts.If this appeals to you - please read on for more details.
The cost is £70 and this includes:
brunch and a drink
ironing boards and irons, plus tailors ham and sleeve press
some larger tables for pinning and cutting and the other smaller tables will be for your machines. There is also a comfy seating area for some hand sewing and relaxation.
afternoon tea and a drink (you are welcome to purchase additional drinks from the counter during the day)
plenty of free parking on site
your own sewing goody bag to take home!
You will need to bring
your own sewing machine – although do get in touch if this is not possible, as I will have a limited number of machines to hire for the day at £10.
your own project for the day (don’t forget your instructions!) – and make sure you have pins, thread, scissors and anything else you think you might need with you. I will have a selection of sewing items for sale on the day if you have forgotten something.
Rough timings for the day (this is a chilled day, after all!)
9.30am arrival
Brunch will be served upon arrival– I will be asking for your choice of bacon bap, sausage bap, or vegetarian option (TBA nearer the time)
You can then unpack your project and enjoy a day of uninterrupted sewing surrounded by fellow enthusiasts!
10am-2.30pm Sewing time (including pinning, sewing, chatting, unpicking, pressing, chatting and having a nosey at what your fellow sewists are making!)
2.30pm – afternoon tea is served (including cakes, a cream tea with the famous Tiptree jam and delicious finger sandwiches)
More sewing time and goody bags are handed out
4.30-5pm – packing up your project and heading home after a lovely day of sewing with like-minded peo
ple.
Location: The Writtle Tea Rooms (function suite), Lordship Road, Writtle (opposite the Agricultural College)

There are only 10 spaces and they will be booked on a first come first served basis.
