In the Mood for Sewing
**Latest date for ordering Christmas Gift Boxes - 20th November**
**New Class Announcement Below**
After a couple of months feeling adrift with my SewJo mojo, I've had a sudden burst of creativity. It's a relief to be honest, as I find great solace in being creative and making beautiful things (well, they start out beautiful in my mind, anyway!). If I don't have at least one personal sewing project underway, I find myself a bit aimless.
I recently did a fabric order from one of my faves (Guthrie and Ghani) and without realising it, all 4 fabrics I ordered were pink. I think this is 'a happy colour' for me and who doesn't need a bit of that right now. I couldn't wait to get them in the washing machine and cut out. So treat yourself to some gorgeous fabric and sew up a little self-care.
I've also been thinking about the wonderful students who have joined me over the last 6 months or so via Zoom. We have made so many fabulous things. Everyone has enjoyed learning new skills and wearing their makes ('yes - I made this!'). I want to continue this learning in the new year and have been looking at patterns that will develop skills but also be lovely to wear. I have some new classes for you!
Thursday 7th and 14th January 10.30-11.30am we will be making the Camber Set Top from Merchant and Mills. This is a great introduction to making a woven fabric top with darts and a very neat construction method. One of my all time favourite makes - and I can't wait to share it with you. Price for 2 week course is £25. You will need to provide your own pattern and fabric.
Thursday 21st and 28th January 10-30-11.30am we will be making a v-neck blouse with a facing. I will also cover how to make a full bust adjustment to this pattern for us curvy girls. The pattern I will be using to demonstrate is the Megan Nielsen Dove Blouse - but you are welcome to substitute for another similar style with a v-neck and facing. Price for 2 week course is £25. You will need to provide your own pattern and fabric.
If you haven't joined me on Zoom before you are very welcome. It has become a supportive and friendly community. Both projects are suitable for beginners and intermediate sewists. If you would like to book (or treat someone else to this class) just drop me an email.
Don't forget about my Christmas Present Gift Boxes - latest date for ordering is 20th November. I've already had quite a few family members place an order, or you could treat yourself! The fabrics have arrived for the boxes and they are SO GOOD!
Happy Sewing (it really does help!)
Jo xx
