Hello
Sewing makes me happy. I have loved sewing since I was about 5 years old and over the years I have made many clothes, costumes, home furnishings and gifts for myself and those I love. I enjoy each stage of the sewing process - starting with an idea, then planning and fabric shopping (ooh I LOVE fabric shopping!). When you buy a new item of clothing you come home from the shops and it's there. When you buy fabric to make a garment then the shopping is just the beginning.
I get a real buzz from cutting out the fabric, pinning, sewing, adjusting as I go along and then finally a unique item finished just as you imagined (hopefully!)

I started SewJoBaker in 2017 and I wasn't really sure if there would be enough demand for sewing lessons. Since then, my little business has grown and I have taught hundreds of people to sew. My youngest students are 8 years old and the most senior (so far) is 83! It's never too late to learn a new skill. In fact, sewing is a great skill for a Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Many of my students are learning for fun and to make their own clothes. Some have developed their costume making skills, and some have progressed to fashion college. One young person has even ended up working in Savile Row! I am very proud of all of my students.

I am here to help you along your sewing journey - every step of the way. I hope you will have as much fun as I do!

Happy Sewing,
Jo x
